For Wallingford Graduating Seniors

Dear Class of 2011:

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation!  You have so much to look forward to in the months and years to come.  
Celebrate your achievements by attending PROJECT GRADUATION 201

nd celebration!    

Project Graduation is an ALCOHOL and DRUG FREE celebration for ALL Wallingford graduating SENIORS no matter
what school they attend.  The Mayor’s Council on Substance Abuse Prevention and local businesses, organizations as
well as volunteers from the community have supported this event for 22 years!

PROJECT GRADUATION has been a FREE activity for Wallingford seniors since 1989!  

PROJECT GRADUATION will have sporting events, a variety of games, contests, music, photos, food and more for your
enjoyment.   Thousands of dollars worth of cash and prizes have been given away during the last 22 years.  Last year
over $
4,000 in CASH was won throughout the night! The last two PG events hosted 725 Wallingford graduates.

To be eligible to attend, just complete the permission form on the back of this letter and return it to the Main Office at
Sheehan or Lyman Hall by June
14th, 2011. Seniors from other schools should send the permission form directly to
YSS.  Everyone attending will board buses to Wallingford Park & Recreation Department following Graduation on
Thursday, June 23rd.  Boarding will begin around 7:30pm and continue until all are transported.

Read over the enclosed material with your parent/guardian. Then complete and return the permission form on the back
of this letter.

I hereby consent and grant permission, should the necessity of medical care arise, to the furnishing of medical
treatment and hospital services as ordered or recommended by a qualified attending physician, including the
administration of an anesthetic, laboratory procedure, medical or surgical treatment, x-ray examination, or other hospital
services. I assume responsibility for payment for any such attention.

I hereby absolve the Town of Wallingford, Project Graduation Committee and its chaperones from any and all claims,
damages, or causes of action arising out of injuries that may be incurred by my child while at this all-night party.

The undersigned guardian or parent hereby assumes and accepts all responsibility and liability which may arise or
occur as a result of any damage to any property or injury to any person willfully or maliciously caused by conduct of the
aforementioned senior. Such responsibility and liability shall be joint and several with the responsibility and liability of
said senior and in no event shall the Permission Slip be construed to relieve said senior from personal liability for
damage or injury.

I hereby assign to the Government Access Television Services of the Town of Wallingford all the rights to videotape and
sound recording made of my senior and hereby authorize the reproduction, copyright, exhibition, cablecast and/or
distribution of said without limitation.

Guidelines and Rules for Student and Parents

1.        This is an alcohol, smoke, and drug free graduation party.

2.        Students will have ample time to take pictures after graduation before boarding buses. We recommend that all
students change into more comfortable clothing at school.

3.        Students can bring a backpack, purse, or any other bag to carry their belongings for the evening. Students’ bags
will be tagged before they board the buses. We will have a safe area for all bags to be kept by chaperones so that
students need not worry about them. Gifts and money received at graduation should be left with family members and
not brought to Park & Recreation Dept. Wearing of expensive jewelry is not recommended.

4.        We suggest that cell phones or other electronic devices not be brought to Park & Recreation Dept.

5.        No personal food or beverage containers will be permitted on buses.  Plenty of food and beverages will be
provided upon arrival at the Park & Recreation Department.

6.        Only Wallingford seniors with a reservation may attend. Residents that have graduated from high schools other
than MTS or LHHS must have submitted their reservation forms directly to the YSS office prior to June 18. No one will be
allowed into Park & Recreation Dept. who has not arrived there by approved buses.

7.        Students CANNOT be dropped off or arrive in their own vehicle.

8.        No one may leave during the evening unless a PARENT/GUARDIAN is called for permission; also, a
PARENT/GUARDIAN must come to Park & Recreation Dept. to pick up the student and must have drivers license ID.  BE
ADVISED STUDENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO LEAVE WITH FRIENDS, SIBLINGS OR ANY OTHER NON-
PARENT/GUARDIAN. Any student who leaves before the event is over is not eligible to participate in large cash prizes
awarded just before departure at 4AM.

9.        Any student found using, under the influence of, or sharing any illegal substances will be dealt with accordingly.  
Parents will be called to pick up student.

10.        All students must bring clothing, sneakers, etc. with them to graduation because they will not be able to leave
school grounds before boarding buses. Remember that the weather might change during the night and warmer clothing
might be needed.

11.        Vehicles should not be left over night in school parking lots. PROJECT GRADUATION ACCEPTS NO
RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES INCURRED.

12.        PARENTS must make arrangements for students to be picked up in school parking lots at 4:15AM on

riday, June 24, 2010. The high schools will not be open upon our return at 4:15AM.
